• Go to www.google.com
• Type “Google gravity” and then click “I’m feeling lucky” on Google, the entire page will lose it’s gravity!! Though you can still search on it and play with the webpage.

You can open multiple command prompts and give different titles for each command window.Cool isn’t it?

1. Beware! Don’t sync your  Twitter account with Facebook , if you are someone who tweets every 10 minutes will end by flooding the live-stream of your friends and  they will end up marking hide your updates .

5. Do not invite all of your contacts to attend events, only those who may be interested and those who are geographically possible should be invited.
6. Each time you use an application on Facebook as a requirement it asks you to send an invitation to your friends do not click on the send button, somewhere must have a button to skip this step (the policy of Facebook require it .)
7. When uploading pictures make sure they have access only to people who should have access to them, your mother is not interested to see how you vomit on your best friend (and probably your boss either.)

Simple Trick to Lock Your Computer Using Mouse

Today lets see a simple trick on how to lock your PC using mouse click.We normally use Alt+Ctrl+Del or Windows+L to lock our PCs.Instead of trying those windows keyboard shortcut keys to lock Pc, lets now tryout something new .Some might have already know this trick already…

1. Just Right click on the desktop, point to New and click Shortcut.

2. In the Create Shortcut dialog box, copy the following into the ‘Type the location’ of the item text box:

“rundll32 user32.dll,LockWorkStation” remove quotes while typing.

3. Click Next.

4. In “Type a name for this shortcut”, type LOCK MY PC and Click Finish

5. Now just double click on the icon, your desktop will be locked.

Though this is a age old trick.It makes some difference to newbies

Simple Trick to Display Windows Version on Desktop

Most of you might have noticed Windows version on the desktop in the lower right-hand corner during beta releases of windows.Lets now see a quick trick on doing this in your windows platform.I tested this registry hack in Windows Xp, Vista and Windows 7 and its working fine

Steps to show windows version on Desktop

1. Goto Start –> Run (Windows Key + R)
2. Type Regedit and hit Enter.
3. In Registry editor, navigate to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
4. Select “Desktop” in left pane and search for “PaintDesktopVersion” in right pane and double-click it.


5. A dialog will pop-up, change the “Value Data” field from 0 to 1.


6. Restart the Windows you will find Windows version printed on the desktop.

Check Windows version on the desktop in the lower right-hand corner.
Note:
If you wish to remove the watermark, just change the “Value Data” field back to 0.

Method2:(Using Terminal)

1. Goto Terminal window.

2. Type the following command,

sudo apt-get install samba smbfs

3. Hit Enter.

How To Customize Your GRUB2 Boot Loader On Ubuntu

How to Install BURG?

1. Open a terminal window and type the following command,
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:bean123ch/burg && sudo apt-get update


2. After its completion, close the terminal window.
3. Goto System –> Administration –> Synaptic Package Manager. In search box type “BURG” and hit enter.


4. Right click on Burg mark it for installation then click apply.
5. The installation process will start.During installtion don’t make any change in first Burg settings window.Just click Forward.


6. In the second window, choose your Ubuntu’s root drive, or if you have a separate /boot partition choose it instead.


7. Finally enter the following command in a terminal window and hit enter.
sudo update-burg
8. You can now restart and the Grub bootloader screen will be replaced by Burg. While at the boot screen, use these shortcuts press F1 for help, F2 for a list of themes, and F3 to change screen resolution.

How to Install GNOME 3 on Ubuntu 11.04

Step-by-step Tutorial to Install Gnome 3
Step1:
Press ALT+F2 key on your keyboard, check the “Run in terminal” option and paste the following command in the “Run Application” dialog,
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3

A terminal window will open enter your password when asked.

The terminal window will appear for a few seconds, and it will automatically close.
Step2:
Press ALT+F2 key combination again, check the “Run in terminal” option and paste the following command in the “Run Application” dialog,
gksu apt-get update


As previous step enter your password when asked. A terminal window will appear for a few seconds, and it will automatically close.
Step3:
Press the ALT+F2 key combination again, check the “Run in terminal” option and paste the following command in the “Run Application” dialog,
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade


A terminal window will appear. Enter your password and hit Enter. When you will be asked if you want to upgrade your packages, type Y and hit Enter. The terminal window will automatically close when the installation is over.
Step4:
That’s it GNOME 3 is  installed on your Ubuntu machine. Just reboot your system and choose Ubuntu GNOME Shell Desktop at the login screen.

My Computer takes a long time to load the desktop

Problem:

When I turn on my computer and log in, my computer takes a long time to load the desktop and system tray icons.How do i get rid of it? And fix the the desktop problem?

Solution:

Your windows takes long time to load because of so many reasons like Virus,Damaged Registry, Fragmented Hard Disk, too many startup items, less memory space.I have already discussed in detail about these things in 5 Reasons that slows down your computer performance post.In this post I am going to show to easy fix a slower PC.

• Removing Unwanted startup Items.
• Fixing HDD Errors.

Now lets see these things in detail.

1. Remove Unwanted Startup Items

• Goto Start–>Run.
• Type msconfig and hit Enter.
• Navigate to Startup tab.

• Keep Antivirus,Instant messenger, and other important applications to load in system tray.
• Remove unwanted application.It will pull down your PC performance.

2. Fixing Hard Disk Errors

Hard disk error occurs mainly due to improper shutdown.Its also one of the main reason which makes windows to take long time to load.

• Goto Start –> Run.
• Type CMD and hit enter.
• Type chkdsk and hit enter.

• It Check disk command checks error in HDD and fixes it.
• Now fix errors in other drives. D,E,F,G,H,….
• Type CHKDSK /F for drives other than C and fix HDD error.

How to Install Windows on Your Mac using Boot Camp

Step-by-step Tutorial to Install Windows Using Boot Camp

1. Goto Applications –> Utilities and open Boot Camp Assistant.
2. Click Continue on the initial Introduction screen.

3. Set windows partition size by dragging the divider.And click Partition button.

4. Once completed you’ll notice a new BOOTCAMP drive on your desktop.
5. Now insert your Windows Xp or Vista or 7 DVD and click the Start Installation button.


Note:
In this tutorial I have used Windows Xp.
6. Your Mac will restart, and Windows Xp will boot. You’ll be prompted with a window asking you which partition you want to install Windows on. Select the one with BOOTCAMP in the Name column. Selecting anything else may wipe out OS X or cause serious problems. Just format BOOTCAMP partition with NTFS.
7. As usual the normal windows xp insallation process will go.
8. Once the installation has completed and your Mac has restarted again, you’ll be able to use Windows Os.
9. Now insert your Mac OS X Tiger (or Snow Leopard) DVD. When prompted, select Run setup.exe.
Note:
If you’re using Snow Leopard and a message pops up saying “Remote Install Mac OS X”, close that window and eject the CD. Put the CD in again and this time select “Open folder to view files”, navigate to the Bootcamp folder, and run setup.exe.
10. The Boot Camp installer will launch. Click Next to begin.

11. Select I accept the terms in the license agreement and then click Next.
12. Choose Apple Software Update for Windows, and click Install.

13. The Boot Camp installer will install all the required drivers.

14. Once completed click Finish.
15. Again you’ll be prompted to reboot. Remove your OS X DVD from the drive, and click Yes to restart.
16. That’s it, you’re done!
17. When your Mac boots, hold down the Option key to select which Operating System you want to boot into.
